We are now officially in December so we were surprised by the absence of festive features streaming to streaming services this weekend.
Save for Scrooge – A Christmas Carol Netflix– There’s always one! — this month’s first wave of on-demand content is a real mixed bag, genre-wise. But this doesn’t mean that there isn’t much to see over the next few weeks. This week’s pool of top-notch recommendations includes six streamers.

Willow (Disney Plus).
This is a series we didn’t anticipate seeing in 2022, but it is now. Now streaming Willow, Lucasfilm’s sequel to the 1988 fantasy movie of the same title, directed by Ron Howard. Disney Plus.
Once again starring Warwick Davis as the titular wizard Willow Ufgood, this eight-part spin-off — which marks Lucasfilm’s first non-Star Wars project in five years — takes place two decades after Howard’s original, and follows six heroes on a cross-country quest to save their homeland. .
Willow’s cast of characters, unlike Davis, is entirely new. We I spoke to Ellie Bamber — who plays (initially, at least) the kitchen maid on the show — about keeping her character’s true identity a secret. In a separate interview, TechRadar also interviewed her. Davis himself told us how “everything is perfectly aligned” to bring Willow back to the screen.

Slow Horses Season 2 Apple TV Plus
One of the very best. The best Apple TV showsSlow Horses returns this weekend for its highly anticipated second series.
The new episodes of the spy drama starring Gary Oldman draw their inspiration from Mick Heron’s Slough House series, Dead Lions. This book features Jackson Lamb (Oldman), River Cartwright(Jack Lowden) and Diana Taverner(Kristen Scott Thomas). It is yet again expensive. Solve a twisty murder mystery.

Lady Chatterley’s lover (Netflix).
Warning: Lady Chatterley’s Loafer can be very steamy. It’s a story that’s been told since the beginning and will continue to be told. Netflix’s adaptation is no different.
Emma Corinne, a young British star (the crown) and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken) in the well-worn shoes of Lady Constance Reid and gamekeeper Oliver Mellors, respectively—two characters from very different worlds who engage in a precarious extramarital affair.
Lady Chatterley’s Lover was a short theatrical production that was almost universally praised by critics before it was made available on Netflix. Its authentic portrayal of forbidden love was praised by all who saw it. It could, therefore, make it onto our list of Recommended Netflix Movies. The best Netflix movies.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol on Netflix
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas if it didn’t include another, unwelcome, adaptation of Charles Dickens’ festive old favorite, A Christmas Carol. This year, Netflix is trying to deliver just that, just weeks after Apple did the same with its own adaptation. Lusty.
The broadcast strip features animated music and a musical about an elderly miser who learns the meaning and purpose of Christmas. The voices of Luke Evans, Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley are featured. The movie seems to be more family-friendly than the traditional retelling of A Christmas Carol.
We expect this film to be a great choice for a weekend of celebratory viewing. However, the reviews have not been very kind to it yet.

Three Pines (Prime Vid)

The first episode of Three Pines can be viewed now. The remaining seven episodes will arrive every Friday until the season finale on December 23. The best Prime Video dealsof the year.

Roku’s new licensing agreement allows The Roku Channel to host the holiday-themed celebrity episode on The Great American Baking Show. This original episode aired on ABC in America.
The format is simple: Six celebrities—including actor Nat Faxon and former NFL star Marshawn Lynch—compete against each other to produce the best oven-based creations for judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. Do we need to add more?
