Dorsey wrote that “I still believe that there were no ill intents or hidden agendas, but everyone acted on what information was available.” “As for the files, I wish they were released WikiLeaks-style, with many eyes and interpretations to look at. There’s nothing to hide…just a lot to learn from.”
The former CEO addressed the “Twitter Profiles”, for the first-ever time. The disclosure details some of the company’s internal deliberations around controversial decisions such as Donald Trump’s suspension or Twitter’s handling on New York Post A story about Hunter Biden’s computer. The Files were not made available to many people, who only posted small portions of Slack messages, emails and screenshots from Twitter’s internal tools. The core documents have not yet been made public or distributed to other media.
Notably, Dorsey addressed the harassment of former Twitter executives. “The current attacks against my former colleagues can prove dangerous and resolve nothing,” he wrote. “If you want to place blame on me or my actions, or the lack thereof, then I’m the one to blame.” CNN On Monday, it was reported that Yoel Roth (ex-head of Trust & Safety at Twitter) had “fled home” following violent threats against him.

As with recent statements from Dorsey, he also shares a lot of ideas about how content moderation should work — namely, that algorithms should be used in favor of a “centralized system” — and his hopes for an “open protocol” that could “make social media a native part of the internet.” As part of his efforts to fund companies developing such protocols, he said that he will give Signal $1,000,000 annually.
