Today, Devialet Mania will be announcing its battery-powered speaker, the Devialet Mania. This compact speaker retains the company’s sci fi style but is compact enough to offer 10 hours of battery power at “moderate volumes”.
Devialet claims the Mania comes with four full-range speakers and two subwoofers. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the speaker is its ability to adjust its audio profile based upon the measurement of your listening space. It does this by using four microphones. Devialet claims that if the speaker is placed close to a wall, Devialet will adjust the sound to “strengthening” the front drivers.
The speaker supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The speaker supports AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect protocols, and Alexa is available for voice commands. It’s IPX4 dust and waterproof rating means it can withstand small water splashes. However, the Devialet cannot be claimed to be immune from solid particles like dust or dirt. You can purchase a separate USB-C docking station or charging port.
The Devialet Mania will be available for purchase starting today at $790. However, it will be impossible to compare the company’s quality with this product.
