Google has collaborated with Samsung to create an app that helps you centralize all your apps. Google, also known as Health Connect, has announced that the beta version will be available on the Play Store.

In Blog postGoogle explains that Health Connect enables users to share “health and fitness data across Android devices, with user consent.” Apps integrated with the platform can also share data so that users can get credit on one app for an exercise they did on a different app.

Android users will be able to sync their Peloton workouts with apps like MyFitnessPal and WeightWatchers. Peloton members can now share their exercise stats across all the apps they use to support their overall health and wellbeing with one integration with Health Connect.

Google Health Connect will not only share data about your health and fitness, but also provide a central place to manage all your privacy settings. This page will allow you to adjust data permission settings from one place, without having to go into each individual app. This feature is said to have fine-grained controls, so users can “know which apps are accessing the data at all times”.

Google claims that there are over 10 apps for fitness, health, or wellness that integrate with its platform at the moment. These features include MyFitnessPal (oura), Peloton (samsung health), Fitbit (fitbit), and many more. The tech giant claims that this is just the first wave and that there will be more compatible apps in future.
