Google made the smart decision to return to the Beloved NexusIn 2019, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL were rooted and launched a new, cheaper version. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL boasted the same great camera performance as their pricier siblings for a fraction of the price — they started at just $400. Every Pixel A series phone has been delivering similar value, so we are eagerly anticipating the Pixel 7a. Let’s take a look at the next affordable Google phone.
Will there be a Google Pixel7a?
Google does not offer any warranty (see the latest). Uninstall PixelbookThen there’s the Stadia diesWe are certain that a Pixel 7a will soon be available. For a while, we have been hearing about a phone codenamed Lynx. There’s been much speculation about what it could possibly be. It seems like this is not the Pixel Ultra. collapsible pixel(probably codenamed Felix). Instead, we expect it to be the midrange Pixel 7a which will arrive sometime next.
The Pixel 3a was launched alongside a larger XL version, as each Pixel had done before. The Pixel 4a didn’t have a bigger brother – unless you counted the Pixel 4a 5G – although this had a lot of similarities with the Pixel 5! It followed the same formula for the Pixel 5a — which saw a very limited release in the US and Japan only — and Pixel 6a phone. We believe the Pixel 7a will be available in only one size.
When will the Pixel 7a launch date be?
The Pixel A series release dates have been somewhat inconsistent, so it’s difficult to predict when the next model will arrive. The supply chain has been plagued by problems such as chip shortages and other issues in recent years. But, hopefully, the situation will improve when 7a arrives. The Pixel 3a XL was released in May 2019, while the Pixel 3a XL was released in May 2019. The Pixel 4a & 5a were released in late August 2020 & 2021 respectively. After being announced at Google I/O in May, the Pixel 6a was finally released in July 2021.
Current model: Google Pixel 6a review
This is the preferred launch window of A-series phones by Google. Our best guess is that Google will announce its Pixel 7a at next years’s developer conference and release it shortly thereafter. You can expect to get it sometime between May and Aug 2023.
What specifications and features does the Pixel 7a offer?
Ryan Haines/Android Authority
Although we have only seen a few leaks about the Pixel 7a, they contain intriguing details about what could possibly be the most premium Pixel series.
Advanced features
Google must make certain sacrifices in order to keep its flagship priced lower than its competitors. This means that the screen is smaller, has a lower resolution, and uses older hardware. However, according to A leak from developer Kuba WojciechowskiPixel 7a could be a departure from tradition and offer more advanced features than what we’ve seen before.
After reviewing the Android Beta (Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1Wojciechowski found several references to the device codenamed Lynx, which point to some interesting upgrades. There are clues that the 7a will sport a 90Hz 1080p display. This is in contrast to all previous Pixel A-series models. This panel will likely be identical to the standard. Pixel 7. Take a look at the basic level iPhone 14It still has a 60Hz screen, but this would be a major upgrade for the budget Pixel. This might seem a bit premature, since other Android phones with screens as high as 120Hz have been available at low prices for many years. Google is taking a positive step in this direction.
Pixel 7a can break from tradition and pack more feature than any Pixel A series ever made.
The Pixel 7a could also feature 5W, according to another leak. wireless charging. This is a double-edged knife. Wireless charging on a low to mid-range Pixel is a good option. However, 5W would make it too slow, especially since the phone will be arriving in 2023. This will work if you charge your phone every night. It will not be very useful if your only need to charge for a few minutes before you leave the house.
Chipset and camera upgraded
Wojciechowski was also able get Android Beta code. The Pixel 7a will likely feature a dual rear camera setup with a Sony IMX787 sensor as the primary shooter and a Sony IMX712 ultra-wide lens. The Pixel 6a used an aging IMX363 as its main camera. We should expect a major upgrade in that department. There were rumors that the back might have three cameras, but this doesn’t seem to be true. The A-series phones often closely follow smaller/cheaper Pixel flagships every yea, and since the Pixel 7 only had two rear cameras, we expect to see the 7a do the same.
These are just proven rumors. However, there are other educated guesses that we can make. The Pixel 6a comes with the same first-generation Google Tensor chipet as the Pixel 6. This means that the Pixel 7a should follow suit. G2 tensorThis was the case for the company’s latest flagship. These devices are extremely responsive so we expect the same level performance from the 7a mid-range.
Familiar design
Few smartphones are so high-profile that their designs have not been leaked before they go on sale. It’s not surprising then, that these phones were released. This CAD render is from the Pixel 7aIt will be available online. The phone looks just like the Pixel 6a but with some visual touches from the Pixel 7.
The dimensions of the new phone (152.4×72.9×9.0 mm) are slightly bigger than its predecessor. It will be 0.2mm tall, 1.1mm wide and 0.1mm thick. These differences are negligible. You won’t be able to get the 3.5mm headphone socket back if you were expecting it.
We don’t know the details of the materials, but we expect Google would choose plastic over glass on the back. And we may not get the full aluminum frame wrapping around the camera strip on the higher-end Pixel 7. While the bezels around any Pixel A-series phone are slightly wider, it’s still a beautiful phone.
The Pixel 7a may look the same as the Pixel 7, but it’s not difficult to see the difference. We hope for some new color tracks, though.
How much will the Pixel7a cost?
The base models of the Pixel A series were available for purchase at prices between $350 and $450. We expect that the new Pixel 7a will also be available at the higher end. The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro didn’t see a price increase, so the 7a will be available at $450 just like the 6a.
Price is likely to fluctuate in other regions due to rising inflation and currency fluctuations. Google may increase prices in other countries, but it shouldn’t surprise you.
Pixel 7a: What are we looking for?
Wireless charging
Robert Triggs/Android Authority
It’s one of many rumors that we have heard about the device. We really hope it is true. Wireless charging is not something that can be considered a luxury. However, many phones are using the Qi standard and wireless chargers are very affordable these days. Google should improve this aspect of its lower-priced phones, even if it only charges at a slow 5W rate.
face unlock
After initial signs that the Pixel 6 Pro and 6 Pro had Face Unlock, neither device has received the feature. We don’t know why, but we finally found the biometrics option for the Pixel 7/7 Pro. It might not be as useful or safe. The full face unlock that comes with the Pixel 4Although it is slower and less secure than the previous Pixel 7 for payments, it still makes unlocking your smartphone a lot easier and quicker. Google may bring back the front facing camera hardware from the Pixel 7 to 7a. This will allow us to use the same face-unlock feature on this phone.
Higher refresh rate screen
Brands like Realme and Xiaomi charge budget phones at 120Hz frequency. Refresh rateThere has been a long history of screens, so it’s not surprising that Apple and Google continue to release expensive products with 60Hz refresh rates. A display with a 90Hz refreshrate seems to be in the works for the first time on a Pixel A series device. This is at least the same rate as the Pixel 7. If that is the case, it would be a welcome addition to the device’s display. It would also greatly improve the experience when scrolling through articles or interfaces. Applications.
More colors
Robert Triggs/Android Authority
Smartphone manufacturers have spent years exploring different finishes and colors over the years. Google chose to go with muted options this year for its flagship series, with the exception of the Lemongrass Pixel 7. The Pixel lineups will continue to feature the same black and white models, but they’re offering us a few other color options. More variety from Google official casesIt would be greatly appreciated.
