Chrome OS has this Windows 95 feature

TL; DR

  • Google has finally added the Trash function to Chrome OS108.
  • It was previously possible for the feature to be toggled via a tag. However, it is now a default option.

Chrome OSIt has been around over a decade. This has opened the doors to a variety of opportunities. Affordable laptops. Google is still behind the Microsoft and Apple platforms in some ways. Google has finally brought a decades-old feature to its platform.

Chrome OS 108 introduces Trash in the Files App (h/t: 9to5GoogleThis is similar to the Recycle Bin in Windows 95 or later versions of the desktop platform. This means that deleted files will be moved to the trash folder, where they will be completely removed after 30 days. Or, you can empty the trash manually.

This is handy in case you accidentally delete something, or decide to delete it. Before Chrome OS 108 deleted files in the Files app.

The Chrome OS flag can activate the Trash option since Chrome OS 89. The option is not available by default for the first time, as it was with the Recycle Bin in Windows 95 and higher. Apple has offered a trash option since decades.

However, we are glad to see Google finally implement the long-standing desktop feature on Chrome OS.
