Google Chrome now has a new feature that may make you wonder why it’s not there: the ability search your history, tabs and bookmarks directly from the Google address bar.
As you may already know, you can open Google History to view your past (as an example).CTRL-HClick () in Chrome to open the pages you have opened previously. Google Bookmarks is the same. All you need to do now is type. @bookmarksThen there’s the @tab windowsOr @DateUse the Google address bar for job search.
You’ll see a Google Address Bar reflecting your selection. There’s also a blue text indicator to indicate that you’re browsing your browsing history.
Chrome is less helpful than scanning for open tabs. Instead, Chrome will offer to take you directly to the tab if it detects that it’s already opened. You could, for instance, click on CanType in “@tab windows“and then”PCWorld Laptop ReviewsFor example. If you open a tab showing PCWorld’s Laptop Reviews page and click the “Switch To This Tab” button, you can simply type it into the address bar. Microsoft Edge uses the same “switch this tab” feature.

It is a blessing to be able search through open tabs. I have about 50 tabs open at any one time. I also have a tendency to open multiple tabs in a single window, close them to clear my desktop, then forget to close something I need. This problem can be solved by simply looking through your browser history.
For these new Google Chrome features, update your browser as usual. This feature was enabled only after I upgraded Chrome to version 108.0.5359.95.
