New numbers have claimed that C++ is among the top three most popular programming languages used by developers today.
The TIOBE index(Opens in new tab)This company promises to scan more then a billion lines code per day in an effort stay on top usage. PythonIt is still the most used programming language with a rating 16.66%. That’s just one point ahead of C at second place, at 16.56%.
The percentages aren’t based on market share. They are instead based on the number skilled engineers worldwide, training programs, and third-party vendors. Each programming language is awarded a final prize for being in the top 3, which signifies its growth, confidence and commitment to further development.

These numbers are still changing from year to year, but Java’s third-place prize in December 2021 was challenged by the latest round. This resulted in the ratings dropping by 1.7% and moving up to fourth. After Java exited the platform, C++ saw a huge growth of 4.21%, but in fact, at 11.94% and 11.82%, both programming languages remain incredibly tight as they are still preferred by developers all over the world.

C# was at 4.92%, JavaScript in seventh, PHP was in 12th, and Apple Swift programming language was in 15th. This is a drop from last year’s 10th.
