Samsung’s new foldable display concept can slide or fold.

samsung screen Flex HybridIt is a prototype device with a foldable screen and sliding screen. The “smart device” concept’s left side can be folded to reveal the screen. The right side can slide out for more screen space. It will be displayed at CES 2023 together with a new 17 inch sliding screen and dashboards designed to assist self-driving vehicles.

Samsung Display states that the Flex Hybrid has a resolution of 10.5 inches and peak brightness of 12.4 inches. It’s easy for us to envision the screen in a foldable smartphone. This allows the device to fold down to a tablet-like experience and then slide out to enjoy a movie, or game on a larger display.

The prototype is based off concept devices Samsung Display has been showing off over the years (not to forget the foldable phones Samsung Electronics has made available to the public). Last year, Samsung reviewed a A variety of collapsible and slip-on concepts at Display Week in MayAlthough folding and sliding screens can be combined in one device, they are not used together quite as often. It is worth noting that Samsung has yet release any of these advanced screens in a consumer-ready product. This means that the Flex Hybrid concept may take some time before it hits the masses.

Samsung Display also has two larger 17-inch slide out prototypes for future laptops. The public debut of the concept at CES will mark the first time it has been seen since its debut during CES. Intel’s innovation keynote in September. The Flex Slidable Duet alone can expand in one direction while the Flex Slidable Duet has two directions. They can expand from 13 to14 inches to a total 17.3 inches.

Samsung has a new line of displays for self-driving vehicles that combine 34-inch, 15.6-inch panels. Samsung Display wants self-driving startups to be able to have these displays in a consumer-ready product. However, no word has been given on whether or not they will appear in a consumer-ready product.
