Do you really need Windows 11?

Windows 11 is a file A controversial piece of software. Although some may appreciate the new look that Microsoft has created, it’s clear that Windows 10 will continue to be very popular and functional for the foreseeable future. There is technically an advantage to using newer software, especially if your machine is Intel-powered. Is this enough to make a significant difference? Gordon and Adam examine the PCWorld YouTube channel.

Gordon used the most powerful parts of the Intel Core i9 processor to run a series on Windows 10 and Windows 11. In a series of tests, the only difference is swapping the boot drives.

Cinebench, Handbrake and PugetBench Adobe Premiere were tested. Lightroom, Photoshop, Lightroom, UL Procyon Creative Suites, Office 365 Crossmark Enterprise, GeekBench and Chrome 107 were also tested in a variety testing environments. Try a variety of our standard benchmarks for games.

Is it worth upgrading? The answer is “no,” to ruin a 20 minute video. The results in almost all tests were within the margins standard error, meaning they basically performed the same. Windows 11 might have gained a 3-4 percent advantage in some cases. However, Windows 10 got this advantage in a few Windows 10. If performance is a concern, you can’t upgrade to Windows 10 on the most powerful hardware.

Gordon tried stacking the benchmarks and software and turning the iGPU off and on, but the results were nearly identical. Except for some testing in Chrome, Photoshop, it was a draw…with Windows 11 & 10 trading in slight benefits.
