While many found the film exploitative and Ana de Armas’s performance as the star was appreciated, they were not able to fault it. It doesn’t matter whether a film that takes creative liberty is justified or exploitative; it fails overall. It aims high but misses its target. Although it was praised by some, others were less enthusiastic.

Technically, Firestarter doesn’t have a hybrid version. Peacock was released the same day.
